Recap: Golden Demons vs. Standley Lake Gators

The Golden Demons were the 64-43 winner over the Standley Lake Gators when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between Golden and Standley Lake wasn't particularly close, with Golden falling 61-46. Golden has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Golden's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Slade Pike, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Leif Hansen, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Standley Lake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Titus Schrecengost out in front who scored 19 points along with five assists and four steals. Schrecengost is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrek Sims, who scored 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Golden has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Standley Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Golden will head out on the road to square off against Conifer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Golden is facing Conifer at the right time seeing as Conifer is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Standley Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Alameda at 7:30 p.m.
