Basketball Game Preview: Washington Pam Pack vs. SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars

Washington is 0-10 against SouthWest Edgecombe since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Washington Pam Pack will square off against the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Washington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came up short against North Pitt on Thursday, falling 51-28.

Meanwhile, SouthWest Edgecombe had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They blew past the Chargers 62-30. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 26 points or more this season.

Washington better focus on containing Kdeidria Collins and Aaliyah Whitehead as the pair were huge in SouthWest Edgecombe's win. Collins went 10 for 16 on her way to 23 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Whitehead went 8 for 13 on her way to 23 points and three steals. Collins is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Chonacey Mabry, who posted seven points and five steals.

SouthWest Edgecombe's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
