Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Colts vs. Grand Prairie Gophers

The Arlington Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Grand Prairie Gophers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Arlington lost 56-36 to Lamar on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 852nd, while the Vikings are ranked 347th).

Meanwhile, Grand Prairie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Sam Houston, falling 45-15.

Grand Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Arlington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

Arlington strolled past Grand Prairie in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 42-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arlington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
