Baseball Game Preview: Johnson Warriors vs. Foothill Mustangs

Johnson is 6-1 against Foothill since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, Johnson made easy work of Florin and carried off a 15-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Andre Soto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyat Wolf, who fired off three triples, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Yuriy Murza was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Johnson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foothill). They never let Sacramento get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Johnson, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.

Johnson got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Foothill by a conclusive 30-10 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
