Softball Recap: Tipton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Tipton had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 3-6 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Eastern Comets. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Lacey Bitner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Makayla Schinlaub, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As for Eastern, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games.

On Eastern's side, Mackenzea Causey was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Causey also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Myah Stevens was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tipton will face off against Hamilton Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern, they will take on Rochester at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
