Basketball Recap: Trinity Prep Extends Winning Streak to Three

Trinity Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 56-52 W over Faith Christian Academy.

Trinity Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gerald Layne, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Layne a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of David Kedar, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points.

Trinity Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Faith Christian Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Prep will take on HALO in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian Academy and Providence Classical Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th.
