Volleyball Recap: Rise Kohyang Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

On Wednesday Rise Kohyang's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Los Angeles Leadership Academy Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on March 3rd.

Rise Kohyang took Los Angeles Leadership Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 24-26, 14-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Rise Kohyang was led to victory by Elvis Garcia and I Joey. Garcia had four digs and two aces, while Joey had five aces and one block. That's the most aces Joey has posted since back in April of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Rise Kohyang was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 15 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Rise Kohyang's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Los Angeles Leadership Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Rise Kohyang has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus on the 2nd. As for Los Angeles Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Alliance Bloomfield on the 28th.
