Baseball Game Preview: Glenn Eagles vs. St. Anthony Saints

The Glenn Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the St. Anthony Saints at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Glenn is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Glenn after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campbell Hall. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

Glenn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Aguilar, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Anthony suffered their closest defeat since March 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Sage Hill by a score of 11-9. Even though they lost, the Saints' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Luke DeGiorgio and Matthew James stepped up to the plate in a big way. DeGiorgio scored a run while going 2-for-3, while James scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Jason Glenn was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, St. Anthony hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sage Hill struck out seven times.

Glenn's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for St. Anthony, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
