Basketball Game Preview: Aurora Central Catholic Chargers vs. Providence-St. Mel Knights

Having just played yesterday, the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Providence-St. Mel Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Aurora Central Catholic is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They walked away with a 60-49 win over Illinois Math & Science Academy on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Providence-St. Mel lost to De La Salle at home by a 76-62 margin on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Meteors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Providence-St. Mel's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Aurora Central Catholic, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-17.

Aurora Central Catholic strolled past Providence-St. Mel when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 57-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aurora Central Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
