Volleyball Recap: Starr's Mill Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Starr's Mill lost against Landmark Christian back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the War Eagles. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the War Eagles 25-15 in the first set.

Starr's Mill started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-11.

Sammie Brady paced Starr's Mill's offense, picking up ten kills. Brady got some help from Katie Gutshall and her nine assists. Sophia Olson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Landmark Christian can attribute much of their success to Ryan Lawrence, who had 16 digs and five assists. Those 16 digs gave Lawrence a new career-high.

Starr's Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Landmark Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Starr's Mill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Eagle's Landing on the 23rd. As for Landmark Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Newnan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
