Football Game Recap: Independence vs. Pine

Pine took an ego-bruising loss against Amite last Thursday, but they kept their chin up and bounced back on Friday. Pine managed a somewhat close 28-24 win over Independence.

The matchup started off well for Pine, whose offense put up 28 first-half points. Independence countered with 8 points, leaving the score at 28-8 going into the half. Pine were outperformed in the second half 0-16 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Pine will look to defend their home turf next week against Northlake Christian at 7:00 PM. Pine will be strutting in after a victory while Northlake Christian will be stumbling in from a defeat. As for Independence, they will face off against Pope John Paul II. Independence will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
