Baseball Recap: Paris Eagles vs. Hackett Hornets        
        
		
            
 After a string of five wins, Paris's good fortune finally ran out  on Thursday. Their  rough  11-3 loss to the Hackett Hornets  might stick with them for a while. Paris was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hackett apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2023.
  Kort Tencleve was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Tencleve was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Tencleve wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Konnor Edwards, who  went 3-for-4 with a  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Paris  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 14  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hackett only tossed nine.
 Like Paris, Hackett also got a great game from a two-way player:  Cole Ketchum. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Ketchum was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with a  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Trenton White and  Eli Slavens did most of the damage at the plate:  White  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Slavens  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Paris' loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Hackett,  the  victory  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 8-4.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paris will take on Hector at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Paris is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.4  runs per game this season. As for Hackett, they will be playing at home against Charleston at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
