Basketball Recap: Trinity Blackburn Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Beatty

Tonopah won the last time they faced Beatty and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tonopah Muckers walked away with a 42-31 victory over the Beatty Hornets.

Tonopah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trinity Blackburn led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals. Blackburn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Alyssa Mauer was another key player, scoring nine points along with six boards and three steals.

Tonopah was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tonopah now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Beatty, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Tonopah will square off against Indian Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Beatty, they will face off against Round Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Round Mountain will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Beatty surely won't give up without a fight.
