Basketball Recap: Central DeWitt Takes a Loss

Central DeWitt and Clear Lake squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Central DeWitt had to settle for second. They came up short against the Clear Lake Lions, falling 57-34. While losing is never fun, Central DeWitt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Clear Lake is ranked tenth).

Central DeWitt moved to 13-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Clear Lake, the win keeps them at an undefeated 30-0.

As of now, neither Central DeWitt nor Clear Lake have any future games scheduled.
