Baseball Recap: Canyon View Victorious

While Canyon View's win against Delta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Rabbits 4-3. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Rabbits recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Zach Maine made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Canyon View is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise. Maine was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Maine wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jeter Sanders, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Sanders has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Canyon View's record is now 7-10. As for Delta, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-3.

Canyon View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rabbits: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
