Recap: Woodland Wolves vs. Pioneer Patriots

The Woodland Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of Pioneer by a score of 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Woodland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lincoln Twilley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Dylan Ramirez who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ramirez has scored all season. Joseph Cadotte was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.

Chancey Minshew was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with three steals for Pioneer. Minshew hasn't dropped below 15 points for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Wirth, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Woodland has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Pioneer, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland will face off against Casa Roble at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Casa Roble has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,954 points over their last 27 contests. As for Pioneer, they will head out on the road to take on Mira Loma at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mira Loma will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Pioneer surely won't give up without a fight.
