Boys Latin gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Gilman Greyhounds by a score of 7-4. For the Lakers, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Greyhounds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Mark Windle, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Blake Shumate, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

Gilman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Boys Latin will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Park School at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Gilman, they will host DeMatha at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
