Basketball Recap: Coon Rapids Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Coon Rapids Cardinals lost to the Johnson Governors on the road by a 82-67 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Governors are ranked 85th).

Coon Rapids has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points over those games. The win was the fifth in a row for Johnson, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

As of now, neither Coon Rapids nor Johnson have any future games scheduled.
