The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats will be playing at home against the Newton Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Newton is headed out to face a Bobcats squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City came up short against Farina South Central on Monday, falling 15-1. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Nowitzke, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Newton's offense. They lost 11-0 to Mascoutah on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
