If the Cranbrook Kingswood Cranes were feeling good off their 52-12 takedown of the Denby Tars on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cranbrook Kingswood was dealt a 80-22 defeat at the hands of Detroit Country Day on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cranbrook Kingswood has scored all season.

Cranbrook Kingswood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yasmyn Palmer, who scored 12 points. That was a full 54.5% of Cranbrook Kingswood's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Jaidyn Elam continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Detroit Country Day, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Elam has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ari'yana Wiggins, who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Cranbrook Kingswood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Detroit Country Day, their win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cranbrook Kingswood will square off against Plymouth Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Plymouth Christian Academy is ranked 275th, while Cranbrook Kingswood is ranked 270th). As for Detroit Country Day, they will head out on the road to take on West Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Bloomfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
