Basketball Recap: W.E.B. DuBois Academy Takes a Loss

W.E.B. DuBois Academy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 89-69 to the Male Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (68), the Lions still had to take the loss.

W.E.B. DuBois Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. Male's victory bumped their record up to 18-10.

W.E.B. DuBois Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Male, they will be playing at home against St. Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Xavier knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 28 matches -- so hopefully Male likes a good challenge.
