Basketball Recap: Drew Terkildsen Key Part of a Team Effort in Scotties Win

Philip won the last time they faced New Underwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Philip Scotties came out on top against the New Underwood Tigers by a score of 55-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scotties.

Philip's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drew Terkildsen led the charge by going 8 for 13 on her way to 23 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Terkildsen is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mattisen Reckling, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points.

Despite the defeat, New Underwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jocelyn Fulton almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fulton has scored all season. Alyssa Scott was another key player, putting up eight points.

Philip's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for New Underwood, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Philip has already played their next game, a 52-45 victory against Wall on the 23rd. As for New Underwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-20 loss against Kadoka on the 23rd.
