Baseball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cedar Valley on Friday, Cedar came back down to earth. The Cedar Reds took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgeline Riverhawks on Friday. The matchup marked the Reds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Daxton Corry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cedar saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Ludlow, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Cedar now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ridgeline, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Cedar and Ridgeline will both be playing Provo the next time they take the field. Ridgeline will head out to face Provo at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cedar will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
