Mt. Morris scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. The game between the Panthers and the New Lothrop Hornets didn't end well, with the Panthers falling 41-24. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Mt. Morris still got an impressive performance from Colby Carper, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and one score.

New Lothrop found their leader in freshman Marcellus Childress, who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries.

Mt. Morris' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for New Lothrop, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
