Preview: Grace Classical Christian Academy Gryphons vs. Town East Christian Eagles
The Grace Classical Christian Academy Gryphons will square off against the Town East Christian Eagles at TBD on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grace Classical Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by Panhandle Christian Home Educators at home to the tune of 50-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Grace Classical Christian Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
Grace Classical Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Jones out in front who rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 38 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Tyce Robshaw was another key contributor, gaining 86 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Town East Christian didn't have too much trouble with New Braunfels T at home on Friday as they won 58-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Town East Christian.
Their wins bumped Grace Classical Christian Academy to 4-4 and Town East Christian to 2-5.
