Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Mesivta's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Mesivta won the last time they faced The City School and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mesivta Mustangs came out on top against The City School Lions by a score of 57-44.

Mesivta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eitan Zohar out in front who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dov Hirsch, who scored 13 points and six rebounds.

Mesivta is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for The City School, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mesivta will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Barrack Hebrew Academy at 9:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for The City School, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Foundation Collegiate Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The City School is facing Foundation Collegiate Academy at the right time seeing as Foundation Collegiate Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
