Volleyball Recap: Tanque Verde Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Tanque Verde challenged Catalina Foothills on Saturday. The Hawks fell 2-0 to the Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

Delaney Mikkelson paced Tanque Verde's offense, picking up four kills. Mikkelson got some help from Lauren Strada and her seven assists. Finally, Mikkelson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Tanque Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Catalina Foothills, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Tanque Verde is taking a road trip to square off against Sahuaro at 6:00 p.m. on September 8. As for Catalina Foothills, they will square off against Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
