Geneva made up a huge gap compared to their last game against First Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Geneva blew past First Academy 8-1 on Monday. Considering the Knights have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jeremiah Kavanah made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Kavanah wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kale Blanchette, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Wyatt Strokes was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Lake Mary Prep's offense. They came up short against Trinity Christian Academy on Friday, falling 16-0. The Griffins haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Geneva pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Mary Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lake Mary Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Geneva hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. It's a different story for Lake Mary Prep, though, as they've only averaged .184. Will they be able to contain Geneva's hitters?

Geneva took their win against Lake Mary Prep in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Geneva since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
