Baseball Recap: Farmington Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Farmington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dexter Bearcats 2-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dexter's batters probably weren't too happy with Cooper Tripp, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (he gave up zero walks). Tripp has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tatem Tinsley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson McDowell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Farmington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dexter struck out seven times.

Farmington pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farmington will venture away from home to take on Seckman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dexter, they will head out to face off against Bloomfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
