Baseball Recap: Millikan Gets the Win

While Millikan's win against Long Beach Poly wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Millikan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Long Beach Poly on Friday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Jackrabbits recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Daunte Bell's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Millikan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Ness, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Ness also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Millikan's record now sits at 7-4. As for Long Beach Poly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Millikan will host Cabrillo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Millikan is facing Cabrillo at the right time seeing as Cabrillo is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Long Beach Poly, they will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
