Volleyball Recap: Seamus Mccormack and Ethan Tran Secure Win for Xavier

Xavier had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 3-7 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the La Salle Academy Rams 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since May 6, 2024.

Xavier was led to victory by Ethan Tran and Seamus McCormack. Tran had ten digs, while McCormack had 17 kills, eight digs, and one block. McCormack is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 31 games he's played dating back to last season. Lukas Waas also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

As for La Salle Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Defeat or not, La Salle Academy got some senior leadership from Ty Cotta and Eliseo Nogueras III. Cotta had 17 digs and two assists, while Nogueras III had seven digs and two aces.

Xavier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Hand on the 5th. As for La Salle Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against East Greenwich on the 6th.
