Arabia Mountain and Chamblee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arabia Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Arabia Mountain is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Varsity Opponent last Friday as Arabia Mountain made off with a 73-53 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rams have posted since November 25, 2024.
Arabia Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rance Mckenzie, who posted 12 points. Julian Shanks was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.
Arabia Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Chamblee entered their tilt with Bethlehem Christian Academy two weeks ago with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the Knights out 55-52.
Chamblee's win came from a few key players Arabia Mountain will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eston Mcdow, who had nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Stephens, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
Arabia Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Chamblee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Arabia Mountain has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Chamblee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
