Baseball Game Preview: L'Anse Creuse Lancers vs. Lakeview Huskies

The L'Anse Creuse Lancers will venture away from home to challenge the Lakeview Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. L'Anse Creuse's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Lakeview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

L'Anse Creuse fell victim to Fraser and their airtight pitching crew last Wednesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Meanwhile, Lakeview came tearing into Saturday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Huskies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lakeview's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for L'Anse Creuse, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

L'Anse Creuse came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
