Basketball Game Preview: Central Red Devils vs. Auburn Tigers

The Central Red Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Auburn Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Central was able to grind out a solid win over Smiths Station, taking the game 57-50. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Panthers are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Auburn waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 76-63.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-4.

Central came up short against Auburn in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 67-55. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
