Basketball Recap: Skiatook Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After losing to Verdigris the last time they met, Skiatook decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Skiatook Bulldogs walked away with a 62-51 victory over the Verdigris Cardinals on Tuesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Cardinals are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skiatook now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Verdigris, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Skiatook will be playing at home against Oologah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Verdigris has already played their next game (against Vinita), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
