Jaden Hookfin leads Slidell to victory over St. Paul's

Recap: Slidell Tigers vs. St. Paul's Wolves

The Slidell Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They came out on top against St. Paul by a score of 57-49. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but Slidell was the better team in the second half.

It was another big night for Jaden Hookfin, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Bonnaffons, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Slidell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for St. Paul's, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slidell won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hammond at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hammond will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Slidell is ranked 48th). As for St. Paul's, they will head out on the road to face off against Northshore at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
