Softball Recap: Fowler Redcats vs. Chowchilla Tribe
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coalinga, Fowler was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Chowchilla Tribe. The win continues a trend for the Redcats in their matchups with the Tribe: they've now won six in a row.
Izzy Lopez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Andreya Mendoza and Natalie Gonzales did most of the damage at the plate: Mendoza scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Gonzales scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Anaiyah Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
