Basketball Recap: Adelson vs. Laughlin Cougars
Adelson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 32nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 56-44 to the Laughlin Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Adelson this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-34 last Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laughlin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryson Drescher, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Israel Trejo was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Adelson's record now sits at 0-15. As for Laughlin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adelson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Indian Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Adelson is facing Indian Springs at the right time seeing as Indian Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Laughlin, they are taking a road trip to challenge Founders Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Founders Classical Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Laughlin surely won't give up without a fight.
