Baseball Recap: Oak Hills Has No Trouble Against Sycamore

Oak Hills came out on top against Sycamore on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Highlanders put the hurt on the Aviators with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Highlanders have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Oak Hills got a great performance from Gabe Cox as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Cox a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Wil Kraus was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Harrison, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Oak Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Oak Hills' victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Sycamore, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Looking ahead, Oak Hills will welcome Fairborn at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sycamore, they will head out to face off against Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
