Volleyball Recap: Churchill Has No Trouble Against SA Roosevelt

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brandeis, Churchill was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chargers yet this season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Churchill took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-10, 25-10.

Olivia Huereca paced Churchill's offense, picking up 11 kills. Huereca got some help from Sofia Sedano and her 22 assists. Jyllian Casas and Lucy Shepler kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Churchill's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 21-11. As for SA Roosevelt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season.
