Baseball Game Preview: Everett Crimson Tide vs. Malden Tornados

Everett is 2-8 against Malden since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide will be playing at home against the Tornados at 4:00 p.m.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Everett and Somerville, and Somerville kept the tradition alive. The Crimson Tide took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders on Monday.

Everett got a good showing from Caden Foley, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Tyler Freni and MJ Guida did some serious damage despite the final result: Freni went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Guida went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Everett is 2-1 when Guida posts two or more runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Armani Negron, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Malden waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Patriots. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Malden's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
