Volleyball Recap: Aliza Carrion's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Forest over Highland

River Forest lost against Highland back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Ingots lost 3-0 to the Trojans. The Ingots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-13.

River Forest lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aliza Carrion, who had 12 digs. Zoey Lopez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Alivia Ekanem, who had 23 assists and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

River Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Highland, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14.

River Forest has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Lake Station Edison on the 18th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Hammond Morton on the 22nd.
