El Cerrito came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 73-70 win over the Swett Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-67 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Cerrito to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cannon Jenkins, who posted 15 points. The dominant performance gave Jenkins a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Taro Raskin-Yokoyama, who earned 12 points.

El Cerrito's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.7 points over those games. As for Swett, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

El Cerrito wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-41 win against Hercules on the 13th. As for Swett, they have also already played their next match, a 58-57 victory against De Anza on the 13th.
