Reno is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Douglas, who was ranked 15th in their home state at the time (Reno was ranked 18th). Reno fell 20-13 to Douglas on Friday. That makes it the first time this season the Huskies have let down their home crowd.

Despite their defeat, Reno saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dawson Planeta, who picked up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Planeta is now averaging an impressive 105 receiving yards per game. Braylon Wilson was another key passer, throwing for 198 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Reed over McQueen in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Reed blew McQueen out of the water with a 49-7 final score. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Raiders this season.

Reed's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nishaan Bajwa, who threw for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 39 yards. Mitchell Bertolino was in the mix as well, providing Reed with two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Reed was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 329 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted was before the start of last season.

Reed wouldn't let McQueen keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Reed can thank Caleb Pitcher and Oscar Casarez for forcing both of them.

Reno's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Reed, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Reno took a serious blow against Reed in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 42-14. Can Reno avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
