Basketball Recap: New Bloomfield Takes a Loss

New Bloomfield lost against Chamois back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Bloomfield Wildcats fell just short of the Chamois Pirates by a score of 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since December 14, 2023.

When it comes to explaining why New Bloomfield lost, don't look at Jacob Fuhriman. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points and five steals. Fuhriman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Boessen, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

New Bloomfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Chamois, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Bloomfield will head out to square off against Jamestown at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chamois, they will venture away from home to take on Vienna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
