Basketball Recap: Mercy Career & Technical Takes a Loss

Mercy Career & Technical was the 64-59 winner over Mesivta when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Mercy Career & Technical took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mesivta Mustangs on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Mercy Career & Technical still got an impressive performance from Anthony Caple, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Taji Stewart, who had nine points.

Dov Hirsch was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds for Mesivta. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hirsch has scored at least a third of Mesivta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaked Ben-David, who earned 15 points and five boards.

Mercy Career & Technical's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Mesivta, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Mercy Career & Technical does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mesivta, they will challenge AIM Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Mesivta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
