Soccer Game Preview: West Columbus vs. East Bladen

West Columbus hasn't had much luck against East Bladen recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. West Columbus has given up an average of 7.4 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Columbus lost 10-1 to North Duplin on Monday. That's two games in a row now that West Columbus have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, East Bladen made easy work of East Columbus on Wednesday and carried off a 4-1 victory. Considering East Bladen have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Landyn Scott and Jayce Hatcher scored all four of East Bladen's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

East Bladen is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four matchups. As for West Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

West Columbus might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from East Bladen when the teams last played back in September. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
