Baseball Recap: Woodruff Comes Up Short

Woodruff dropped their record down to 20-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Southside Christian Sabres, falling 10-0. If the Wolverines were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Sabres when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Southside Christian, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-1-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games.

For Southside Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Will Cauthen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Cauthen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Bolemon, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

As of now, neither Woodruff nor Southside Christian have any future games scheduled.
