Baseball Recap: North Gaston Finds Home Field Redemption Against South Point

There's no place like home for North Gaston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the South Point Red Raiders on Tuesday. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 6-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Caleb Cloninger tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

North Gaston's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Point, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.
