Godwin has gone a perfect 10-0 against Freeman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Godwin will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
Godwin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Maggie Walker a 22-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Delilah Smith and Katelyn Hubley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Hubley pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in strikeouts (four). At the plate, Smith got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Hubley got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases were Hubley's first of the season.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Freeman and Mechanicsville, and Mechanicsville kept the tradition alive. The Mavericks fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Kayleigh Perks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Godwin pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Freeman, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Everything went Godwin's way against Freeman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Godwin made off with an 11-1 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
